My parents in their house have solar thermal collector + split unit electric heating to heat sanitary water, fireplace and now photovoltaic panels and those work. and EU funds literally pay the VAT or give 1000 euros if you install photovoltaic panels. Partially Also Europe didn't freeze because General Winter failed Russia in 2022 and maybe Greta is right about climate change, plus there were energy saving measures.
